From this angle you can see, at left on the 2nd level, a window. This is in the unfinished attic, at the top of the stairs from the unfinished garage.

One thought is to finish off this whole section (from the kitchen to the end of this roof section), including the attic. We could consider adding another dormer and/or skylights for lighting on the 2nd floor. Or, better yet, just open it up as a single room (cathedral ceiling), and expose the original hand-hewn post and beams up there (this room would be 23' x 22').
