Across the road is another field, also part of the farm. About halfway up that hill, on the left into the woods, is a small spring house with a spring which provides water for the house year round. A 1/2" pipe runs down through the field, gravity fed, into the cellar, where there's a 300 gal cement holding tank (cistern). It just keeps running. Any overflow runs out of the tank through a 2nd pipe back out of the cellar and drains into the small brook that passes by the front of the house. You gotta love it!
